Lovely climb. Not too heavy and because of the great variety it feels even lighter. In the beginning between the houses there is little slope so you're soon in the green. There you dive right into a beautiful hollow road with a steep slope. The road climbs more and more and between the trees you have beautiful views to the hills and valleys around you. The gravel section (about 400 meters) is somewhat coarse but there are no holes in it, so it is indeed good to drive. It is also over with the slope so it drives fairly light.

Hardly seen any cyclists, only some walkers and runners.

Heerlijke klim.

Indeed the most beautiful of the three mentioned here. There is only a fourth way from Vaals to get to the same point with a much longer piece of gravel. The start is also in the Vaalserstrasse but then a little further from the Steppenbergweg towards the railway passing through the little tunnel and then right into the Friedrichweg, then second right (Am Hasselholz) and immediately right again into the Hasselholzerweg. Follow this road and then turn right again into the Preusweg. Now you cycle into the forest and turn the first road right into Moresneterweg. Then you just follow the road, a little bit across the border into Belgium and then to the right over the gravel. In one climb you've reached the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. CHAPEAU! (Preferably on 28 mm tires)

CHAPEAU! (Het liefst wel op 28 mm bandjes)

Personally I think this is the most beautiful variant of the tripoint. Usually I take a slightly more eastern approach, next to the railway. Unfortunately the upper part is gravel. It is also easy to do on a road bike, but at busy times there can be so many hikers that you can't take the ideal line on the gravel. Definitely an alternative to try it out.

Good alternative for the NL and Belgium variant, but the least of the 3 because of the road surface. Not everywhere is the tarmac perfect and the last 200 meters is unpaved. It is the quietest variant and you really have to work hard. When you turn into the forest you get parts of 10%.
