I always have a love-hate relationship with those tarmac railway lines. Lovely without cars's, but on the other hand: many walkers and cyclists who don't hear your bike bell or only hear it very late. Lots of braking, holding back, passing slowly and accelerating again.

Climb from Blieberg/Plombières over Ligne 39 to the Three Country Point. The start on Rue de Casino is nice for a while. Once you are on the Ligne, you get 4 kilometres of false flat in front of your wheels where you do notice that you are going up. If you turn onto Rue des Trois Bornes from the Ligne, you get the nice 1½ kilometre climb to the Drielandenpunt.
Klim vanuit Blieberg/Plombières over Ligne 39 naar het Drielandenpunt. Het begin op Rue de Casino loopt even lekker op. Ben je eenmaal op de Ligne dan krijg je 4 kilometer vals plat voor de wielen waarbij je toch wel merkt dat je omhoog gaat. Als je vanaf de Ligne Rue des Trois Bornes opdraait krijg je nog de lekker lopende 1½ kilometer klim naar het Drielandenpunt.
Most of this climb runs along an old railway line which has now become an asphalted cycle path. So low percentages but you do feel the slope, partly because of its length. Every now and then you cross a road so be careful there.
At the end of the cycle path you turn right on the asphalt road and continue to climb. After which the percentages increase considerably and there is a beautiful route to the Vaalserberg. Almost the entire climb is through greenery and sometimes there are beautiful views.
Het grootste deel van deze klim loopt via een oude spoorlijn wat nu een geasfalteerd fietspad is geworden. Lage percentages dus maar de helling voel je wel, mede door de lengte. Zo nu en dan kruis je een weg dus daar even opletten.
Op het eind van het fietspad ga je rechtsaf op de asfaltweg verder omhoog. Waarna de percentages flink toenemen en er een prachtig traject volgt naar de Vaalserberg. Vrijwel de hele klim loopt door het groen en soms zijn er mooie uitzichten.
