I climbed it from Andermatt and it is a pleasant climb as it is not excessively long and with a fairly steady and bearable gradient, around 6%. The tarmac is excellent and thanks to that and the width of the road you can enjoy a fantastic descent to Disentis.
Although the views are not as spectacular as on other passes in the area, it is interesting to see a lighthouse at the top of the pass.

From Andermatt, unfortunately, I can only give it three stars. Rather boring and busy road through meadows with hairpin bends and reasonable views. It doesn't get more interesting after the last hairpin, you even have to go through a dark tunnel along the lake where traffic cannot be avoided. You definitely need a tail light there. The road invites bikers to pass you way too fast.

Small plus: the lighthouse marking the source of the Rhine. This is a replica of a lighthouse that once stood at the mouth of the Rhine at the New Waterway, see also this story in Dutch: https://vuurtorensinnederland.nl/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/2010-4-Vuurtoren-Hoek-van-Holland-in-Zwitserland.pdf

Beautiful and not too difficult climb. Ascent done from Andermatt. The climb starts with a number of bends. As one progresses it is a fairly straight road up to the lake. Just before the lake a short while through a tunnel before one can photograph the Oberalppass picture. A nice warm-up if you have some other climbs planned from Andermatt.

Mooie en niet al te moeilijke beklimming. Beklimming gedaan vanuit Andermatt.

The part between Göschenen and Andermatt is well worth it, because of the famous "Schöllenen Gorge" and the "Teufelsbrücke". Although I continued up the Gotthard, I did climb the Oberalp from Andermatt on the return. Nice section out of the city, some great - wide open - views during the fairly straight road up to the tunnel along the Oberalp lake. It is busy, but the lack of hairpins make this less of a problem than from Disentis.

Great climb! From the beautiful cycle path on and along the Gotthardstrasse, the surroundings can be enjoyed. The first 4 kilometres up to the Teufelsbrücke are quite tough. There are quite a few steep sections of over 10% metres. After the bridge, you can recover for a while until Andermatt. From the roundabout in the centre of Andermatt, you'll get about 7 kilometres of not too difficult climbing. Don't forget to enjoy the panorama over Andermatt. The last 3 kilometres you can speed up to the top of the pass at the lighthouse.

Geweldige klim!

I have only cycled the part from Andermatt. Beautiful surroundings, but from there on there are many more beautiful cols to explore in the area.

Cycled this beautiful climb in 2019.
Especially a big compliment for the road engineers who in the first part to Andermatt also took into account the cyclists and still let you cycle exclusively on the tourist topper.
I wish it was like that everywhere.
Climbing out above Andermatt is panoramically beautiful.
