Hello Ols!
The road is being asphalted and is practically finished as of 26 September 2023, it will soon be open to everyone, after a few years in which it was left aside, finally began the works of widening and asphalting of the 1.8km of land.

Hola Ols!!

This climb is only partially accessible, because of the roadworks. There are no published plans for finishing them, so don't be like me and assume "last year there was construction there so now it should be ridable". It is not at won't be for a long time.

But it is possible to have a decent ride here, you just have to know where are the obstacles. So, from the beginning:
- At Los Yesos the climb starts with a bad surface that soon changes into grooved concrete. Until the tunnel under the highway the road is very steep, riding here is no joy and pure pain
- Soon after the highway the surface changes into new asphalt. Unfortunately, this is a short stretch.
- After 1,8km from the start the paved road ends. The construction starts here - any preexisting surface that was there in the past has been torn out and it is just rocks and stones for the next 2 kms. Do not expect a flat surface, it is an (abandoned) construction area with multiple obstacles and no safety barriers. It is not possible to ride a road bike there and challenging to ride an MTB.
- After 2km of unpaved road (3,8km from start) there is a deep, open ditch across the road and after it, a tall barrier built out of rocks. It is possible to carry the bike over them.
- From now on until Sorvilán you can enjoy one of the most beautiful climbs in the whole Costa Tropical area, with spectacular views. The road is wide (two lanes), carries absolutely no traffic and has very good quality asphalt. You just have to watch for the stones that fall from the cliffs - since the road is unused, no one bothers to remove them from the road.
- After Sorvilán everything is back to normal, and the climb to Haza del Lino is very enjoyable (just remember that you are now 1000m above the starting point - it can be chilly).

Best way to ride it - start from the top, ride down to the barrier and go back again. The lowest part is nothing to be excited about.
