Nice long climb with irregular but pleasant gradients. The climb actually starts at La Rabita on the wide road with lots of traffic to Albunol. After Albunol the traffic stops and you can enjoy the ride. You crawl up out of one of the valleys with an often dry river. Nice long climb with irregular but pleasant gradients. The climb actually starts at La Rabita on the wide road with lots of traffic to Albunol. After Albunol the traffic stops and you can enjoy the ride. You crawl up out of one of the valleys with an often dry river. After about six miles at 700 meters altitude a beautiful view of the sea reveals itself. A little later you pass the turnoff to the village of Sorvilan, known by the locals for its wines. The climb has flattened out, but will by the time you approach the exit Polopos slope again, but it is no longer really steep. The top is indicated on the map at the crossroads, but the climb continues slightly towards Rubite.

Some tips:
1) Be aware that it can get hot here in the summer. There are no water points from Albunol, but on the top'top' at the crossroads is a terrace.
2) The descent towards La Guapa is really tricky and especially the last part which can cost you a large part of your brake pads. I would turn right at the crossroads and head for Cadiar and then turn right again at the Albondon exit. There you have a wide road on which you can drop down like a brick.
