Pretty long, with really steep kinks, especially the last 100m cut the legs off. Lovely though!

Alternative to the Strava Challenge from the Schapenberg via Riekestraat. Despite having more difficulty points, I find this one easier. The first section is less steep (and the second steep section is exactly the same as the other climb). Once you've turned left, it rises steeply for a while, then it goes down for a while, you can change gears big and set some pace already before you start the steepest, final stretch. As a result, you have already covered some metres without much trouble. After that, it's stomping uphill!

The nicest side for getting to the Hotond mill. I give you the tip of taking speed at the small descent and pushing up as much as possible. The percentages then easily run to the 15%!

Very beautiful and mostly quiet climb through the forest
Especially steep towards the end, but highly recommended to combine with the Fiertelmeers

Tough but also beautiful climb, good as a variation to the classic cobblestone climbs. At the end you arrive at the Hotond, where you can descend quickly and safely.

I climbed this "variant" yesterday during the Kwaremont Sluitingsprijs. Nothing special to report compared to the Schapenberg itself, it's almost the same thing: a piece of real Ardennes planted in Ronse.

Very nice climb to the top of the Hotond. Only better than the Fiertelmeers in my opinion. The last part through the forest is very steep but very quiet!
