Very beautiful and mostly quiet climb through the forest
Especially steep towards the end, but highly recommended to combine with the Fiertelmeers

Vooral steil naar het einde toe, maar een echte aanrader om te combineren met de Fiertelmeers
Tough but also beautiful climb, good as a variation to the classic cobblestone climbs. At the end you arrive at the Hotond, where you can descend quickly and safely.
Stevige, maar ook mooie klim, goed als variatie voor de klassieke kasseiklimmen. Op het einde kom je uit aan de Hotond, waar snel en veilig kunt afdalen.
I climbed this "variant" yesterday during the Kwaremont Sluitingsprijs. Nothing special to report compared to the Schapenberg itself, it's almost the same thing: a piece of real Ardennes planted in Ronse.
J'ai grimpé cette « variante » hier lors du Kwaremont Sluitingsprijs. Rien de particulier à signaler par rapport au Schapenberg proprement dit, c'est quasiment la même chose : un morceau de véritable Ardenne planté à Renaix.
Very nice climb to the top of the Hotond. Only better than the Fiertelmeers in my opinion. The last part through the forest is very steep but very quiet!
Zeer mooie klim naar de top van de Hotond. Doet enkel onder voor de Fiertelmeers naar mijn mening. Het laatste stuk door het bos is enorm steil maar wel zeer rustig!
