Vrij mooie beklimming met hier een daar een iets steiler stukje, maar ze pieken niet tot boven de 10％ wat het voor mij één van de aangenamere varianten maakt richting Pellenberg.
It's a beautifull climb with steeper sections, gradual sections and even slightly downhill section, it's very long the scenery around is a pretty pleasant view, the road itself is a part very good smooth road on the side and cobbles in the middle of the road it looks pretty good and I would consider this one of the nicer climbs of the region.

After a few hundred metres, a "good lying" cobblestone strip arrives. If you don't want this, there is a good cycle path next to it, in both directions.
Start is not too bad. The climb gets tougher at the level of the big parking lane on the right, but nowhere gets really tough.
After the top it goes up and down to Bovenlo.
Vandaag eerste keer dat ik deze klim gedaan heb. Ik had zo goed als geen verkeer op deze weg. Er staat aan het begin ook een verkeersbord "uitgezonderd vergunningshouders". Goede asfaltweg. Na enkele honderden meters komt er een "goed liggende" kasseistrook aan. Als je dit niet wilt, ligt er een goed fietspad naast, in beide richtingen.
Begin valt goed mee. De klim wordt zwaarder ter hoogte van de grote parkeerstrook rechts, maar wordt nergens echt zwaar.
Na de top gaat het nog op en af tot Bovenlo.

Relatief rustige baan. Een uitstekend fietspad flankeert de kasseistrook, die er ook heel goed bijligt. Het steilste stuk ligt meteen in het begin van de klim, voor de rest heb je lange uitlopers. Bovenop het plateau kan de wind lelijk huishouden ;-)
In any case a better alternative to go to Pellenberg or Korbeek-lo than Lastberg. But after doing it once, the urge to cycle this side of Pellenberg was gone. For me the eastern side of the Hageland is so much more beautiful and bike friendly.
The climb itself is not really hard but still worth the name climb in this region. You can make it a bit harder by cycling on the cobblestones instead of the good cycling lane. Also the wind can be very strong in the second part.
Alleszins een beter alternatief om richting Pellenberg of Korbeek-lo te rijden dan de Lastberg. Maar na 1 keer te doen was de goesting weg om deze kant van Pellenberg met de fiets te komen. Voor mmij is de oostelijke kant van het Hageland zoveel mooier en fietsvriendelijker.
De beklimming zelf is niet echt zwaar mmaar toch de naam beklimming waard in deze regio. Je kan het zelf wat zwaarder maken door op de kasseien te fietsen ipv de goede fietsstrook. Ook de wind kan hier lelijk huishouden in het 2de deel.

Rustige klim op een kasseiweg, maar door het fietspad aan weerszijde van de straat kan je die kasseien makkelijk ontwijken. Let wel op want regelmatig staan er auto’s geparkeerd op het fietspad waardoor je toch even de kasseien op moet springen.
Easier alternative to the Bovenlo roundabout than the Heideberg and in my opinion also the Lange Lostraat. The steepest part is over relatively quickly and after that it's, except for 2 bumps, almost flat to the roundabout. At the junction with the Lopad you can also see very far on a nice day.
Makkelijker alternatief naar de rotonde van Bovenlo vergeleken met de Heideberg en naar mijn mening ook de Lange Lostraat. Het steilste deel is relatief snel voorbij en daarna is het, behalve 2 bulten, vrijwel vlak tot de rotonde. Bij de kruising met het Lopad kan je op een mooie dag ook heel ver zien.
