It doesn't get really steep anywhere, but the great views are almost everywhere. Unfortunatly there is many cars on the road too. There is a two Km part where it's flat and fast. The closer you get to the top, the more the view opens, and you can look up to the right, on a big mountainside. It's a nice climb, not much bad outside the traffic.... read more

overweight undertrained amateur here. Done this in August, started at around 7.30 in Cortina and arrived at the top around 9.10. The climb is uneven in the first part with short portions over 9% and then back to around 5. It seems more regular in the second part. In between there's some kilometers where you can rest a bit.
Even early in the morning and on a Monday there was some traffic, i think it's much worse later in the day.
The views are very nice, the tarmac is good.

7/10 Ridden this one after the Giau, so did not cycle the full climb. In terms of percentages, I can't say I found this one as stable as the profile suggests. It also felt heavier, although I think that was mainly because of the Giau. I did find it quite crowded (high season). All in all, a fun climb but not super!

Truly a magnificent climb. The start still starts among the trees, but after halfway, the beautiful Dolomites do get really close. Pure enjoyment!

Puur genieten!

Long and not particularly treacherous... but to be calibrated and dosed well!

Continuous ascent except for the middle section where you go fast. Some short climbs make it more interesting. The best and most exciting part is cycling in front of the Tofane Dolomite giants on roads that are on the whole beautiful and well maintained.

Nicer towards the summit and challenging due to its length. Be sure to ride that extra bit to the Valparola at the top, which is even more beautiful.

After having done the Falzarego from Caprile the day before, I thought this side was not so bad. It is comparable in terms of steepness, but clearly shorter in terms of kilometres. The section between kilometres 8 and 10 went by quickly, here it pays to ride with or in a group. The last few kilometres are the toughest, but still very steady so that you can ride up pleasantly.

Beautiful long not too difficult climb on good wide road, cycled from Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Start after the bridge over the Torrente Boite River in the center, to a 1st hairpin turn in the hamlet of Ronco winding out of the valley of Cortina with beautiful panoramic views of the city.
Both before and after Pocol (exit of Passo Giau) there is a series of hairpin bends. The middle part is ideal for recuperation because it is "fairly flat" with fairly straight stretches of road. On the right you pass the impressive vertical walls of the Tofana massif and on the left you can see in the distance the famous Cinque Torri peaks.
A final series of hairpin bends precedes the summit, which is an intersection of three access roads amidst Dolomite peaks and equipped with the necessary catering facilities, parking lots and the Langazuoi cable car. Due to its strategic location, Passe Height was the scene of artillery and trench warfare in the First World War.
Along the way there are signs every kilometer with the distance to the top and during the day heavy traffic.

Of course you cycle an extra 1,200 km / 100 altimeters to the Passo Valparola (see climbfinder).
Two summits for the effort of one !
