climbed up from anfo in the last few days with 40 degrees, a beautiful climb from a cycling point of view...many hairpin bends, gradients always high but fairly constant, zero traffic, only a few motorbikes but very respectful, no races. about 30% of the route is in the shade, so if you suffer from the heat it is better to do it in september. the road surface is good I must say at least up to the pass. the valley is closed so the view is poor...I recommend continuing after the pass towards the dosso alto and then the maniva pass. The road is asphalted for a while, then there are dimly lit tunnels with road cement and then about 2 km of dirt road, I had to do 400 metres by hand on my racing bike but all in all doable without major problems.Narrow road with zero protections and cliffs next to it but no problem on the bike...after the dirt road the asphalt returns, first so-so and then in the last 2 km of the passo del dosso a good asphalt returns...last 2 km very hard 9-10% constant. then descent to maniva with asphalt in not good conditions so great attention is necessary.

One of the best climbs around Idro Lake. The road surface is ok (some holes/rocks etc). Traffic is very limited as there is no town at the top. In order to reach the WW1 Fort (Forte di Cima Ora), you need a MTB as it is an unpaved trail.

Beautiful climb. Beautiful curves and great views. Definitely worth the effort. If you ride a gravel bike or mtb, cycle on to Passo del Maniva. The scenery there is truly stunning. The tunnel is closed due to works, but when I was there I cycled through it. After Maniva, I descended via Bagolino.

Prachtige klim.

Superb, gentle and solid climb. At the top, the road surface is bad, but this is being worked on! Ridden the MTB up several times before descending via the fortress Cima d'Ora on Sentiero Breda, back to Anfo. Party!

Feestje!

Lonely road with few traffic, road is narrow and steep. Challenging with no flat segments, mostly sunny. The climb you would do alone, as silence is the king on top.

Beautiful pass with little traffic. The ascent is mostly through forest so plenty of shade is available. Views are few and far between, which is a good thing because you have to pay close attention to the road surface. Pebbles and holes in the road are a particular danger here. The last 3km before the summit, the road surface gets considerably worse. When descending, caution is advised!
The last stretch from the Passo to the Fort di Cima Ora is unpaved and thus not to be cycled on a road bike.

The indicated time is the time to reach the Fort. At an average of 7km/h, you will reach the top of the pass with about 1h30min.

First things first: I’m not a experienced mountain pass driver. As a matter of fact this was my second pass ever (both on the same day). Furthermore I did this climb by car. It all started perfectly fine and it was a great climb until the thunderstorm hit and all hell broke lose above me haha. Decided to push forward until I could find a flat area to park my car (there is none) and wait it out (lasted for what felt ages) but finally saw Rifugio Rosa di Baremone and was greeted by a dude playing the hand pan. Adrenaline rush 10/10 would and will do this climb again. Beautiful views, especially after said thunderstorm.

Nice climb with little traffic and in my opinion still good tarmac, have seen worse.
The last part is tough but doable. From the restaurant to the fortress is not possible with a road bike.
The descent you should take it easy and brake a lot because you can not see who is coming around the corner to the top fortunately the Italians hoot when they come around a corner.
Not too many views between the mountains but occasionally you can see the Idro lake. I did the climb from the Venus campsite.

Superb climb! Over reasonable tarmac you wind your way up on a narrow road. The closer you get to the top, the less the asphalt. Lovers of irregular climbing come here pretty much into their own because of no less than 20 hairpin bends. Unfortunately, the inn on the top closed on Monday morning. Seems that you can eat and drink well. Pay attention during the descent. Even though there are few oncoming vehicles, the narrow and bad road (some holes) make it no easy descent.

Schitterende klim!

Cycled in 2020. Not an easy trip I must say and that is why the coffee in the Refuge upstairs tastes delicious. The descent is technical and requires concentration. At some parts you can feel the bike dragging away. The road is narrow and curvy. This is one of the most beautiful climbs I have done. Beautiful views of the lake. Never skip it! The recorded time is not correct!

Gefietst in 2020 . Nooit overslaan! De genoteerde tijd klopt niet!
