Despite the fact that it is 'only' 5 km long, this climb seems to last forever. Especially the last 2 kilometers are hard work. What the profile doesn't show here is that the climb is a succession of 20% pieces with then 10% pieces in between which you have to try to recover. The road surface has been rebuilt in 2020 because the 4th stage of the Tour of Valencia finished here, so it is in very good condition. This is an insane climb. The first 2 km are still fairly doable, but at the 3 km from the top you still have to overcome 450 altimeters. This is 15% on average !!! For the descent you need some strength in your fingers 😁

Insane climb, super steep at the end but the view is worth it. Would recommend easy gearing and good brakes!

Another one of those's pimples where you have to fight to keep your front wheel on the ground. Beautiful and fun it is not really, until you reach the top and can be proud of yourself. Thankfully some shade to rest in. Be sure to check out how one Tadej P. blazes up here in the Tour of Valencia ;-).

This is a climb for mtb's, or course bike with very small gear.... A monster, not for my age anymore! (64)...

typical Spanish wall, but a wall without end and to say U to, still by bike. The road surface has been given a new layer of tarmac since the passage of the Valencia round and that was a good thing. When you know that you have to cover more than 600 altimeters in ( km) you should expect something and indeed. The first 2 km are still smooth but then you get the Wall of Huy times 4 and many double figures with a 2 as the first number . Fortunately, there are also occasional stretches of 9-10 %. Along the way you get a real climbing feeling due to the narrow road that is very irregular and with lots of turns and quite beautiful along the way with the typical vegetation of southern Valencia. This also used to be the training ground of Francisco Juan Granell , The Spanish climber from Casero who today at the age of 83 still follows many pros on his regular racing bike! Some time ago, he rode kms with Astana and a bit later with Mathieu Van Der Poel and even Remco Evenepoel. On hilly roads, he still averages almost 3O km per hour. This beautiful climb , by the way of 1st category is an absolute must if you are in the area.

What a monstrosity this was. That I would say again that a 10% lane would feel like a relief. The last kilometre begins the concrete road surface where there is also the 20% slope warning sign along road. This is so steep that cars behind me had turned off because I was swerving so much. The view is magnificent, though. However, it is a shame that you cannot get to the Sierra de Bernia viewpoint with a road bike. The great thing about these climbs though is that you are constantly cursing yourself, but would do it again in a heartbeat.
