Boring, heavy traffic and sporting not much of a challenge. And that while there are some wonderful alternatives to your right.

This one done in December . In the rest of the Netherlands, this is just a bridge nothing more than that. But it is on a hill so a somewhat steeper bridge with long stretch of drop flat.

Climb on clear cycle path along the main road between Kunrade and Ubachtberg. Most of the ascent is in the first kilometre and then you can cycle out nicely towards the top.

Despite this being one of 'boring' because of its location, I must say that I did find it funny to do. That was mainly because of the little bumps in it that make you think wtf on the 8% before you can calmly pedal again. It's that it was in the AGR otherwise I wouldn't have made the special detour.

Straight up along the main road. Steep for a while at the beginning. Then it continues for a long time with long percentages. Definitely not worth detouring for this.

Rechttoe rechtaan omhoog langs de grote weg. In het begin even vervelend steil.

A few turns would have made this climb a lot more fun but unfortunately there are almost none. All in all a boring climb that feels long. First part (after the viaduct) is nice and easy but after that it's a long bike ride over perfect tarmac. Via Winthagen is a much nicer way to get to Ubachsberg.

In the descent (which is nice) there is a sign 15). This is a bit too much, but brake in time (earlier on there was also a warning sign not to go too fast) because just after the viaduct there is a chicane in the bicycle path.

Cycling up, there is little view ahead, but looking back, you can see very far.

One boring straight road up, there must be nicer routes to get to this point and I would recommend them. As a descent I think it is fun to make speed.

Long, rather tricky climb.
Long straight track to the top, which keeps going (not good for the morale).
You're glad to get to the center of Ubachsberg, where the summit is.

Meanwhile the bergseweg has been redesigned. The separate bike path has remained, but is now also asphalted.

From the bridge over the motorway, you ride on a separate bike path (paving stones) on both sides, sometimes tricky when descending. Nice alternative descent is the Geerweg from Colmont to Winthagen.

Bergseweg was the scene of the 1967 World Cup, where Eddie Merckx became world champion for the first time.
