This is really hard because before this you have already had the first part of Mons-en-Pévèle. Especially the little left turn completely takes away what little speed you had left. Waiver to the big track!
Dit is echt hard omdat je hiervoor het eerst deel van Mons-en-Pévèle al gehad hebt. Zeker het bochtje naar links neemt de weinig snelheid die je nog had helemaal weg. Afzien tot op de grote baan!
At no point are you concerned with the fact that you are gradually climbing, as you are only concerned with surviving the cobblestones. Obviously epic to cycle once though! At the end, you can climb on to the village of Mons-en-Pevele.
Op geen enkel moment ben je bezig met het feit dat je geleidelijk aan het klimmen bent, want je bent alleen maar bezig om de kasseien te overleven. Uiteraard wel episch om eens te fietsen! Aan het eind kun je nog even doorklimmen naar het dorpje Mons-en-Pevele.
Firm stretch of cobblestones. The entire strip (5 stars in Paris-Roubaix) amounts to 3km. When you get to this last stretch of false flat, you are already pretty shaken up. The cobblestones are in a bad shape and usually covered in a layer of mud. If you find the courage to look around, you get a view of Pevelenberg and the church of Mons-en-Pévèle. I climbed Pevelenberg via the West side after the rattling on the cobblestones, also highly recommended.
Stevig stuk kasseien. De volledige strook (5 sterren in Parijs-Roubaix) bedraagt 3km. Wanneer je dit laatste stuk vals plat voorgeschoteld krijgt ben al behoorlijk doorheen geschud. De kasseien liggen er slecht bij en meestal bedekt met een laag modder. Als je de moed vindt om rond te kijken krijg je een zicht op Pevelenberg en de kerk van Mons-en-Pévèle. Ik heb na het gerammel op de kasseien Pevelenberg beklommen via de Westkant, ook een aanrader.
