After the "S" of Overijse, the road makes a hairpin and the climb starts strong (7 to 8%) on cobblestones: this is the most difficult part. After that, the gradients reduce and there's no real difficulty.

The s-curves in the centre of Overijse are easy. But then you have to turn right into a cobblestone street and then the steepest part of the climb begins. So shift down in time and hang on. After that it goes up a bit more, but without any peaks.

This climb was included in the UCI race route for the pro World Cup in 2021. The first part runs on the main road from the crossroads in the centre of Overijse. It has 2 hairpin bends in quick succession. You have to be careful because there are a lot of cars driving up. And in the first hairpin the cars often want to turn left, so there is a kind of traffic jam where you have to pass. And not every driver leaves enough space between him/her and the kerb so that slowing down or even standing still and waiting can be your part.
After the 2nd hairpin you turn right again from the main road into a cobblestone street. Here it goes uphill for a while. Because this U-turn is very sharp, you can't really speed up to start the steepest part of the 8%. And you start almost from standstill. The cobblestones are not very rough and they quickly turn into asphalt. The steepest part is after 200m already. But the whole climb continues for about one kilometre with even a small descent.

Hier gaat het even pittig omhoog.
