Nice little climb up from the dam in Wesertalsperre up towards the German border. Nothing special or too lethal on the thighs but you'll be glad to get to the top and the views/sounds/smells of the forest are great. Road surface is a relatively rough asphalt with dips and bumps but absolutely doable on a relaxed road bike. Perhaps not the steepest but the scenery makes up for it!

Beautiful climb, parallel to the infamous "Highway to hell". First part on a wide road that seems built for big traffic, but with little traffic. From the reservoir it becomes a narrow forest road with a bit rougher tarmac, but good to cycle. Along the way you get everything, lake, forests, rocks and finally bog. I am myself just before the top left turned, here you can longer ride on these forest roads. There you can choose the road to Rückslag, or even turn back to Petergensfeld, then you have 25 km on these car-free roads.

What a magnificent climb.
A great variety of landscapes: first the reservoir, then the woods and finally the plateau of the High Fens.
The car-free road is for racing bikes: it is 3 meters wide and has good asphalt.

Absolute recommendation. First beautiful along the river, later the forest gradually disappears and makes way for the moors. Very quiet, hardly anyone encountered.

Absolute aanrader. Erg rustig, bijna niemand tegengekomen.

Ridden this climb before. Personally I like the approach from Mospert better. First you descend through the forest and then you see the blue water of the lake. Then you ride over the Dam, a mighty feeling, and then sharp left starts the forest road.

Very nice climb! It is car free and you drive constantly through a beautiful environment. It is never really steep and you can always enjoy the scenery. The road is not as slippery as at Baraque Michel but this one is car free (and prettier) :)

Erg mooie klim!

I also did this climb from the dam, but now I'm curious about the part before :). As the description says, you cycle along a stream through a beautiful green forest. Just because of the old dam, the length of the climb, the lack of traffic and the beautiful forest, this one should not be missed when cycling through this area.

Did it from the lake. I had started my route there. What a perfect warm up! No traffic, in the woods, not steep. Rough road surface though. But otherwise nothing to complain about.

Heb hem gedaan vanaf het meer. Ik was daar mijn route begonnen. Wat een perfecte opwarmer! Geen verkeer, in het bos, niet steil. Wel een ruw wegdek. Maar verder niets aan te merken hierop.
