Lots of opportunities to ride to Cassel. This one is best for those who want to do climbing training. No cobbles and no super steep sections that allow you to really cadence cycling. The road itself is also super, nice tarmac and a few nice curves to make it interesting. However, many use it as a descent instead of a climb precisely because of the good tarmac and moderate gradient.... read more

Everything has been described perfectly in the three previous comments.
It's soft and pleasant. The little bicycle sculpture is a pleasure. There's a lot of pedalling around Mont Cassel here. A very peaceful alternative to the Petit Chemin de la Gare and the Porte d'Aire, two more exciting routes. But the descent and its bends are a real asset.

As Maikel said, the most beautiful climb in Cassel: it's all switchbacks, good road conditions, not much traffic, no big % so good for practising climbing.

A very pleasant climb to Cassel! One of the only cobblestone-free climbs to the town for road-loving climbers.
Quite a rolling climb with low gradients and a small section with higher gradients at the end of the climb! A must do!
