Speed is taken out by still relatively poor cobblestone at the start of the climb. Afterwards even on relatively good convex asphalt. Up to the left and a vicious spur follows.
Snelheid wordt eruitgehaald door toch relatief slechte kassei bij het begin van de klim. Nadien gelijkmatig op relatief goed bollend asfalt. Boven naar links en er volgt een venijnige uitloper.
The cobbles at the foot of the slope rattle the pace, just after which you are presented with the steepest part. If you are scorching here until the crossroads with Kouterstraat, you will pay for it later. After this crossroads, the final part of this climb follows on the right, with percentages at 6％ that can make your legs explode.
I'd call it a two-stage rocket, but it's a slope you'll seriously miss if you attack it too impetuously.
De kasseien aan de voet van de helling rammelen het tempo op een hoopje, vlak erna krijg je het steilste stuk voorgeschoteld. Als je hier verschroeiend uithaalt tot aan het kruispunt met de Kouterstraat, dan bekoop je dat later. Na dit kruispunt volgt aan de rechterzijde namelijk de uitsmijter van deze klim, met percentages aan 6％ die de benen helemaal kunnen doen ontploffen.
Een tweetrapsraket zou ik het noemen, maar het is wel een helling waar je je serieus aan mispakt als je deze té onstuimig aanvat.
I really like this climb, which is in fact a variant of the N4 and which is for me much more pleasant to climb than this one despite its famous "S". The traffic is indeed much less and the profile more varied. I prefer the route usually followed by the Brabant Arrow, which, after the steep section, takes the Kouterstraat on the left and then the Korenarenstraat and the Losweg before rejoining the N4.
J'aime beaucoup cette montée, qui est en fait une variante de la N4 et qui est pour moi bien plus agréable à grimper que celle-ci malgré son fameux « S ». La circulation est en effet beaucoup plus réduite et le profil plus varié. Pour ma part je préfère le tracé suivi habituellement par la Flèche brabançonne qui, après le secteur pentu, emprunte la Kouterstraat à gauche puis la Korenarenstraat et le Losweg avant de rejoindre la N4.
Another nice climb of the Brabant Spit.
The central part is the most difficult.
The asphalt is of good quality.
With all the other climbs in the direct vicinity, there is a good way to work on your climbing skills.

Avec toutes les autres côtes a proximité directe il y a moyen de bien travailler ses qualités de grimpeurs
