The most demanding side of the Teide. The first part to Guimar is pretty easy on its own, but you will feel it later. At about 1000m of altitude you enter the clouds, almost always present in that area and you climb about 500m while in the thick fog. once you emerge, you are almost at the junction with the road from Santa Cruz, and you see the sign that indicates "only" 30km to go. That is where the real deal starts because with all the fatigue from before, those 30km are endless. At the top of course, amazing views over the Teide, but also while climbing, so take your time!
