Nádherné stoupání a příjemný sklon, hned jste nahoře.

A beautiful climb and a pleasant slope, you are right at the top.

I made it up the hill without being overtaken by more than two or three cars, and on good quality tarmac too. The descent to Loudenvielle was very pleasant, with few traps on a sunny day. A perfect experience!

Heavy, but definitely fun. Nice views at the top. Did it when I was there with my family during the 2022 Tour. Empty roads and few cyclists really makes this an empty but beautiful climb.

the last 5km kilometre markers actually say: 9%, 9%, 9%, 6% then last km 8%. regular and lovely climb with great views at the plateau at summit. the descent to Genos is fantastic with the hairpins but I rode this on a Sunday and there were too many cars and motorbikes.

One of those "Welcome to France" cols. The sign at the bottom clearly reads 6.8% average and 9% max, neither of which is true. There's even a kilometer marker stating "Pente moyenne 11%" for the next km... Nevertheless a tough but nice climb with not enough (motorized) travel to get annoying. The views along the climb (down) and at the summit are great, looking towards the Peyresourde. The Portuguese lady at the summit stand sells a few drinks and foods. The tarmac down the other end is a lot better,

A very nice finish, after the small "raidards" of the village of Azet, very green. The descent to the lake of Genos is also very pretty and is done on a good quality surface. Less well known than its neighbour, the Aspin, it is well worth a visit.

The beautiful Col d'Azet has besides starting in Bourisp (as on Climbfinder map) also a possible starting route (Route de Sailhan) from tourist St.Lary Soulan.
Climb then starts at sharp left turn at outdoor cycling center towards Bielsa tunnel (Spain).
Immediately the well-known bicycle information signs are posted every kilometre.
You cycle up through small picturesque villages. In Sailhan you join the other departure route to cycle through hairpin bends through Estensan and finally turning and steep through the narrow streets of Azet (namesake of the climb). From there on the inhabited world ends and the last 4 km you'll find yourself in a pure and open nature "zone pastorale" with free roaming cows next to and sometimes on the road. The last hairpin turns over the green treeless ridge which forms the summit and gives a magnificent 360° view on both valleys.

If you are staying in St.Lary Soulan, this beautiful irregular climb without traffic is definitely a must.
Was already several times and in both directions in the route of the Tour.

Men fietst omhoog door kleine pittoreske dorpjes.
