Never done such an irregular and erratic climb before. The road surface is excellent but watch out for stones on the road, especially the last km. The first 4 km is the procession of Echternacht. 3 steps up and 2 flat or downhill. But the last km is really crazy. Average 15.7% and with stretches of 21% . During the last km, the stretches of 12% are the so-called recovery stretches if you can call it that. Fortunately, it was my first day and for the 2nd time in my life I rode under 5km per hour. One can call this a mini-Angliru but there they ride 6km at these percentages and even up to 26.3 %. I also did a similar climb in the Drome. If you are in the area an absolute must if you like such walls. Actually, the last km is no longer a wall but a climbing wall. Do watch out when descending along this side for the pebbles. Fortunately, I was riding an MTB and with disc brakes because ordinary brake pads melt or jump off. Also the first few hundred metres of the descent other side is extremely steep with also 21%.
DOOn this climb, the lightweight Paret Peintre , 62 kg for 176 cm, could beat Pogacar.

At the very beginning of the climb there is a 21% sign, which is definitely not true there yet (but that will come a piece later).... The climb consists of two parts. The first between the few houses around 8% max. And actually steep and then almost horizontal sections alternate. Then it even descends for a while. Then gradually steeper After the second 21% sign, the real work starts. And really that is hard work... If necessary, you can turn right on the col to a memorial and a cave house. This summer, they laid new pipes near the houses at the start of the climb. afterwards, the road was sort of fringed with asphalt. Going up is still possible. But descending is not recommended. For this reason, I advise everyone to mainly climb in this direction (ascending from the south is easier). Otherwise it is a quiet little road uphill. Beautiful surroundings and hot in summer (like everywhere here)

Daarna daalt het zelfs even.

From La Roque you leave the built-up area behind you. The road is erratic, up and down. After the 21% sign, the first hairpin bends appear and it's another kilometre downhill.

It's a small hill that gets steeper and steeper, with some God-awful sections! It's best to climb it in the middle of the day! (:-)
Lovely views! Limited traffic! The descent behind the pass is extremely steep for the first 200 metres! So be careful!

Attention !
