At the very beginning of the climb there is a 21％ sign, which is definitely not true there yet (but that will come a piece later).... The climb consists of two parts. The first between the few houses around 8％ max. And actually steep and then almost horizontal sections alternate. Then it even descends for a while. Then gradually steeper After the second 21％ sign, the real work starts. And really that is hard work... If necessary, you can turn right on the col to a memorial and a cave house. This summer, they laid new pipes near the houses at the start of the climb. afterwards, the road was sort of fringed with asphalt. Going up is still possible. But descending is not recommended. For this reason, I advise everyone to mainly climb in this direction (ascending from the south is easier). Otherwise it is a quiet little road uphill. Beautiful surroundings and hot in summer (like everywhere here)
Helemaal aan het begin van de klim staat een bord 21％, dat is daar nog zeker niet waar (maar dat komt vanzelf een stukkie later).... De klim bestaat uit twee delen. Het eerste tussen de enkele huizen rond de 8％ max. En eigenlijk wisselen steile en dan bijna horizontale delen zich af. Daarna daalt het zelfs even. Daarna geleidelijk steiler Na het tweede bord 21％ begint het echte werk. En echt dat is stevig afzien... Eventueel kun je op de col naar rechts gaan naar een gedenkteken en een grotwoning. Deze zomer hebben ze bij de huizen aan het begin vd klim nieuwe leidingen gelegd. nadien is de weg soort van dicht gefrunnikt met asfalt. Stijgend gaat nog. Maar dalen is af te raden. Om die reden raad ik iedereen aan om vooral in deze richting te stijgen (stijgen vanuit het zuiden is wel makkelijker). Verder is het een rustig weggetje omhoog. Mooie omgeving en heet in de zomer (zoals overal hier)
From La Roque you leave the built-up area behind you. The road is erratic, up and down. After the 21％ sign, the first hairpin bends appear and it's another kilometre downhill.
Vanuit La Roque laat je de bebouwde kom achter je. de weg loopt grillig, op en af. Na het bord met 21％ komen de eerste haarspeldbochten en is het nog een kilometer af zien.
It's a small hill that gets steeper and steeper, with some God-awful sections! It's best to climb it in the middle of the day! (:-)
Lovely views! Limited traffic! The descent behind the pass is extremely steep for the first 200 metres! So be careful!
Petite cote de plus en plus pentue avec des passages de Dieu le Père ! Le mieux est de la gravir hors milieu de journée ! (:-)
