A climb for the adventurous cyclist. After passing the Château des Comtes de Hornes it slowly starts to climb. At the cobblestones, the climb gets steeper. Fortunately, when you turn right, you get a bit of asphalt and milder percentages for a moment. However, this is short-lived, because after about 30 meters you turn to the left and in front of you appears a huge wall with cobblestones of the worst kind and a path not much wider than 1.5 meters. At the top of the Chapelle Sainte-Croix, the cobblestones turn into gravel and continue for another 100 meters to the Reposoir de la Vierge.

This one wasn't too bad at all. The cobblestones at the foot of the climb are tricky and very steep. You can use the zigzag on the asphalt to take a deep breath and then hit the last stretch of cobblestones. If you keep riding through the middle, they are easy to do. It was a bit slippery so I ended up in the side and had to struggle to find my speed again, so be careful and stay out of the way. The 'gravel strip' at the top is not much. The average asphalt road is worse in Belgium.
Vond deze toch alleszins meevallen. De kasseien aan de voet zijn lastig en erg steil. De zigzag op asfalt kun je even gebruiken om diep adem te halen en dan het laatste strookje kasseien op te knallen. Als je door het midden blijft rijden zijn die prima te doen. Het was wel wat glad waardoor ik in de zijkant belandde en wat moeite moest doen terug snelheid te vinden, pas hier dus wat voor op en blijf uit de kant. De 'gravelstrook' bovenaan stelt weinig voor. De gemiddelde asfaltweg ligt er slechter bij in België
Nice climb with lots of variation, both in steepness and surface. Except for the steepest part on the cobblestones nowhere difficult. And even that part is better than expected from the profile here on climbfinder.
Last part of the cobblestones between the 'walls' of the forest gives a kick, especially because you can see the top coming up at the end.
leuke klim met veel afwisseling, zowel in steilte graad als ondergrond. Buiten steilste stuk op de kasseien nergens moeilijk. En zelfs dat deel valt beter mee dan gedacht vanuit profiel hier op climbfinder.
Laatste stukje kasseien tussen de 'muren' van het bos is geeft wel kick, vooral omdat je op het einde top ook ziet komen.
The similarities with the Geraardsbergen wall are striking: starting in the center, climb through the forest up to the chapel. The climb to the Reposoir however is more like a Paterberg with a small rest.
You reach the climb by turning left before the church on the main road, coming from Klabbeek. After a short descend, the road starts to climb slightly and you see a steep meadow in front of you. After the houses you can see the cobblestones that are piled up on the slope. In the Rue des Comtes des Rabiano the cobblestones are still there. At the top you turn right and left along the first chapel into the forest. It's best you have some left here, because the cobblestones are very bad in some places. The road gets steeper and steeper until you see the light at the end of the forest: a small dirt road brings you to the Reposoir where you better take a rest.
The toughest climb in the area. Perfect at the end of a ride to get everything out of the way.

De gelijkenissen met de muur van Geraardsbergen zijn treffend: beginnend in het centrum stijgen door het bos tot aan de kapel. De beklimming naar de Reposoir heeft echter meer weg van een Paterberg met een klein rustmomentje.
Je bereikt de klim door voor de kerk links af te slaan op de grote baan, komende van Klabbeek. Na een klein dalend stuk, begint het al licht te stijgen en zie je al een steile wei voor je. Na de huizen zijn de kasseien zichtbaar die gestapeld zijn dwars op de helling. In de Rue des Comtes des Rabiano liggen de kasseien er nog goed bij. Boven gekomen duik je rechts links langs de eerste kapel het bos in. Best heb je hier nog wat over, want de kasseien liggen hier op sommige plekken zeer erbarmelijk. De weg wordt hier ook steeds steiler tot je licht aan het einde van het bos ziet: een klein onverhard stuk brengt je aan de Reposoir waar je best even een repos pakt.
De pittigste klim in de weide omgeving. Perfect op het einde van een ritje om even alles uit de kast te halen.
(Boven sla je best de asfaltweg links in, die je tot aan de rand van het Hallerbos brengt langs nog een ander kort klimmetje)
The most difficult hill of all Brabant according to Cotacol. The description given here is correct. Beware, those with fragile or narrow tyres should avoid following the Old Hal Road at the top of the hill: if you take it to the left, the road loses its surface quite quickly, if you take it to the right you will find big cobblestones, first downhill and then uphill (rue de la Vallée), until you reach the main road (rue de Hal)... The most interesting thing is to take the rue Lequeut (a nice, narrow and sporty road, if you extend it by the rue Mathias).
La côte la plus difficile de tout le Brabant selon Cotacol. La description fournie ici est correcte. Attention, ceux qui ont des pneumatiques fragiles ou étroits devraient éviter suivre le Vieux Chemin de Hal au sommet de la côte : si on l'emprunte vers la à gauche, la route perd son revêtement assez vite, si on la prend à droite ce sont de gros pavés qui vous attendent, d'abord en descente puis en montée (rue de la Vallée), jusqu'à la grande route (rue de Hal)… Le plus intéressant est de passer par la rue Lequeut (belle petite route étroite et sportive si on la prolonge par le rue Mathias).
