Nice climb from the valley. Large part between trees, so nice and cool. In addition, the climb is largely in the shade in the morning. Most beautiful part are the last kilometres above the tree line. 3-4 bar restaurants/ cafes along the way and, of course, at the summit.

Good climb. Starting in St. Leonardo is quite nice, as the switchbacks there are very picturesque. The climb is also great - not super challenging, very steady, but long. Great workout, no surprises, no steep ramps or flat sections. It's like someone designed it to be 8% on the dot. There are shaded sections, possibility to get some cold drinks halfway up, and the view up the last section of switchbacks is great.

However, there's an enormous amount of bikers. To the point of feeling a little unsafe. The cafe at the top is a giant motorcycle parking lot, and it's quite unpleasant up there due to wind, noise, and ridiculous prices.

Good climb from San Leonardo. It takes a while and there are some sections that flirt with 12+deg. There was quite a lot of wind at the top. I counted more fancy cars than cyclists. The road surface is not ideal if you are looking for a fast descent.

Cycled the longer and to my mind the most difficult side of this beautiful and less known Jaufenpas/Passo Monte Giovo from the touristic San Leonardo in Passiria.
The climb starts firmly via a series of hairpin bends out of the valley between the pine trees where the picturesque starting point sinks deeper and deeper under you. Middle part is slightly twisting between small villages and guesthouses (food / drink) to the last part back through hairpin bends to the tree line to the narrow pass between two ridges squeezed.
Only tourist traffic. Kilometer poles that add up to the pass height (top is Km 40).

Fairly long and steep climb but the magnificent panorama's on the way distract your attention from it !
