A bit snappier than following the Van Randwijckweg all the way. The first part via the regular route runs along a bicycle lane on good tarmac. Dan is het niet erg om even je vaart en ritme kwijt te zijn want je krijgt er een mooie uitdaging voor terug.

Pas ook op voor dalende fietsers; je mag hier immers alleen afdalen via de Hogeweg, niet via het begin van de Nieuwe Holleweg.
Door deze variant kun je kiezen: of rechtdoor over dezelfde weg, inclusief mooie haarspeldbocht en goed asfalt maar wel druk met auto's. Of linksaf over een moeilijke oversteekplaats, maar wel finishen op een uitgestorven stille weg op het moeilijkste deel van de klim.
