Descending this climb means paying close attention as there are some spots that can be hard. But you won't be bothered by those on the climb. The climb is almost entirely on a straight road (at the right turn, you are almost already at the top). The profile is less regular than indicated because at first it rises nicely, then there is a flatter section after which it rises very fast towards the bend.

The Geldenberg is compulsory fare if you wander in the Reichswald. Firstly because there are so few paths in this forest anyway, and then because it is a quiet, beautiful climb. The silence. You discover how crowded it can be on the climbs on the Nijmegen side.
Doesn't matter much which side you take. This side is the steeper variant, less pretty than from Frasselt.
Road surface on two sides moderate. Goes quite well on a road bike if you pay attention.

Another hidden gem! Descent is dangerous though as there are quite a few holes in the tarmac, which you can't see very well.

Beautiful climb with a very moderate strip of tarmac as a carpet. On the other hand, in the earliest and latest hours with sunlight, the forest gives a fairytale appearance. Personally, I like this one better than the Kartenspielerweg.

Very nice climb. As mentioned earlier, the tarmac is bad at the beginning but gets better as the climb progresses. When you've had the steep part, you think you're at the top but then comes the faint bend where it continues to climb for a while. Doable on a gravel bike though!

Zeer leuke klim.

Fairly steep straight line in the Reichswald on deserted typical Foersterweg. The tarmac is indeed very bad before the climb starts, but you can slalom around it reasonably well. When the climb starts, the quality of the asphalt is more than sufficient. This side of the climb has more climbing points, because it has slightly steeper sections. The other side is much nicer with some nice bends in it. Just after the descent, the road surface changes to gravel of good quality for a few hundred meters.

4 star climb, but unfortunately the road surface has really deteriorated. This side of the climb is doable with a road bike, but definitely not comfortable. Do not descend on a road bike (or be very, very careful) on the other side, as you will hit a section of very loose gravel at full speed...
