I rode this climb during a short stay in Bormio. Knowing that I'd be tackling Passo Gavia after this, I rode it at a very easy pace, and luckily, this climb is perfect for exactly that. There are no steep parts, and the switchbacks just keep coming all the way to the top. The bottom part of the climb is probably my favourite bit, as you can enjoy the views over Bormio and the valley. The rest of the climb is shielded by trees, and it is not particularly obvious at any point that the top is near - you just suddenly emerge from the trees and reach the station with a ski lift, hotel and some restaurants. There, the views are again spectacular, both looking down into Bormio and looking up the ski slope. As a warm-up climb for Gavia or Stelvio it is definitely recommendable.

It is a good climb as a training session for a couple of hours. The view from 2000 is beautiful. Good asphalt. Little traffic, especially when the lifts are closed.

The climb cannot be called spectacular. The nicest part is actually the beginning when you come out of Bormio. From Bormio to Piatto, you still have a view of the valley. Then you come between the trees and it gets a bit monotonous. It never really gets too steep, but there are no real resting moments either. Therefore, it is a good climb for practice or to throw in a quick workout if you have an hour or two free and are staying in Bormio. I wouldn't drive to Bormio especially for it, there are other climbs nearby that are more rewarding

ascent is pretty ordinary, especially watch out during the descent, Road surface is worn in many places and has potholes and bumps.

I rented a Focus Izalco road bike in Bormio (Spot-On) for €60 and did this climb on a car free day (check the information from Enjoy Stelvio National Park to see which 2-3 days in the summer the climbs around Bormio are car free). Nice view on the village of Bormio. Wide road and not a technical descent. Good warming up for Gavia, Stelvio and Mortirolo in the next days. Can be combined with the nicer climb to Torri di Fraele / Lago di Cancano. On top is a ski resort from where you can continue to Bormio 3000 on a mountainbike.

The climb was a turnoff halfway to our cottage. The tarmac was bad and halfway up the climb but the view at the top more than made up for that.

Good warm-up or cool-down climb. Good tarmac but otherwise somewhat boring. At top of ski lift is not much to do.

Goede opwarm of cool-down klim.

The top with ski lifts/parking places and catering establishments looks deserted in summer.
Fortunately, the route to the top gives you a beautiful view of the Bormio valley.
Bormio is often the finish of the Giro but this climb was only the finish in 2004 when the 18th stage was won by the final winner Damiano Cunego.

Ideal warming-up for cycling on the Stelvio and Gavia.

This is a typical warm-up collie if you are in the region, and only a few days later you want to start the real work.

After our 14 hour car drive, we picked up this climb from Bormio, as a warm-up for the greater violence that would follow. Ideal for a quick fix, but many more beautiful climbs in the area.

Today we did the Bormio 2000 climb to end a wonderful week of cycling. A nice but tough climb that should not be underestimated, some tough parts. Descent is less given the quality of the road surface, many holes and cracks.

It is a half Stelvio and therefore nice as 'practice mountain'. Not the most beautiful climb, but certainly not boring to do! There is hardly any traffic and starts directly in Bormio.

I agree with Hubert: the Torri di Fraele is more beautiful and more fun.

Dull climb on wide road to ski station. The least beautiful in the Bormio area. But it is an extra category mountain and part of the Giro, that's why I did it. If you have done the Gavia, Stelvio and Mortirolo and still have time or if you want to break in I recommend the much nicer Torri di Fraele or climb to Forte die Oga.

Gradual climb on wide, double lane roads between the trees. The first few kilometres the road surface is not too good, but after the village of San Pietro it gets better. The climb starts quite steep and gradually becomes less steep. In San Pietro it goes up a bit more and after that the percentages are constantly between 7 and 8%. The 9% which is indicated between km7 and km8 is instinctively closer to 7%.
