A sheltered climb with very little traffic. A sheltered climb with very little traffic. For the first kilometre, you think you've taken a wrong turn somewhere, the bike rolls so easily over the asphalt, but it suddenly becomes more difficult at the start of the first hairpin bends. In addition, the open view of the A45 motorway bridge, which is embedded in the green landscape, reveals just how high you still have to climb. However, you can easily find your rhythm and are hardly disturbed by the sheltered location of the climb. From the village of Rumscheid onwards, the pressure drops and you shift into higher gears again. The road surface is okay, but by no means so bad that it really bothers you.

I would prefer the route to Rölvede to this one, as it leads past a viewpoint at the "Hagen summit cross", so for this somewhat shorter version "only" 3 stars.
