3.0 by MaximGeeromsThis is an automatic translation, the original language is: English.I decided to tackle this climb on my first day in Mallorca to tick off the box next to the steepest climb on the island. I included it in my Palma - Mirador Sobremunt - Esporles - Es Cap des Bosquet - Coll d'en Claret - Port de Valldemossa - Valldemossa - Palma loop. Very steep, with unpleasant flashbacks to my Mortirolo ascent earlier this year in Italy, however this one felt less steep and is of course less long. The quality doesn't falter at all, but otherwise it's a great, very strenuous climb
Done as the finale of the holiday. The first stretch was quite intense because of the heat and gradient but perseverance wins out! Don't give up, there are a few bits of flat or downhill where you can recover for a while and then buffalo through again on the lightest gear. Views are fine but you do it more for the achievement! Not recommended for an inexperienced/untrained cyclist.
Due to its reputation just had to do it, but wouldn't necessarily do it again, mainly due to to decending with bad surface and need for constant braking. Somehow there was always enough flatter sections to give some respite for it not to crack you. The views and atmosphere were nothing special.
Keep focus and climb steady and don’t forget too enjoy. Not the best road but ok on the way up.
What a climb!
The road surface is indeed really bad as you get to the top. The stiffness of this climb is shown in the profile too 'weak' in my opinion. You are constantly above 10%. Assume a climb where you have to deal with 15-20% throughout the climb.
Couple of times anyway to stop!
Views are fantastic!
Paar keer toch even gestopt!
Uitzicht is fantastisch!

Road surface gets worse and worse towards the top. This makes the descent also quite technical so not something to do with your grandma. On the top, there is a dead end with an ok view of Palma and the bay. The other side (from Esporles) has a slightly better road surface and is less steep. I did this climb with a 34*32 for 90% of the climb. Almost no traffic and only a few fellow bikers.
