At the top you pass the Tumulus of Emael, a Gallo-Roman burial mound where locals placed a cross during the 2nd World War where people prayed for the end of the war. Atop the plateau you have beautiful views towards Liège and the Meuse valley. Here you really feel abroad!
Mooie klim met een heuse haarspeldbocht. Abominabel wegdek maar wel een mooie omgeving. Op de top kom je langs de Tumulus van Emael, een Gallo-Romeinse grafheuvel waar de lokale bevolking tijdens de 2e wereldoorlog een kruis hebben geplaatst waar de mensen om het einde van de oorlog hebben gebeden. Bovenop het plateau heb je mooie vergezichten naar Luik en de Maasvallei. Hier voel je je echt in het buitenland!
Nice climb though the road surface is not the best. At the top you have a beautiful view over the cornfields. The descent (or the climb from the Meuse) is even nicer with stunning views and cobblestones as a surface.
Mooie klim hoor, al is het wegdek niet je van het. Bovenop kijk je mooi uit over de korenvelden. De afdaling (of de klim vanaf de Maas) is nog mooier met een schitterend uitzicht en kinderkopjes als ondergrond.
Nice and not too difficult climb from Eben-Emael to the top of Rue de Garage. Is an excellent runner. After the top, descend and via the bridge over the Albert Canal to Ternaaien. There choice of going via the lock complex towards Maastricht or via the Lixhe weir towards Eijsden or Moelingen.
Leuke en niet te moeilijke klim vanuit Eben-Emael naar de top van Rue de Garage. Is een prima loper. Na de top afdalen en via de brug over het Albertkanaal naar Ternaaien. Daar keuze om via het sluizencomplex richting Maastricht te gaan of via de stuw van Lixhe richting Eijsden of Moelingen te rijden.
Nice climb! Fine in combination with the Zusseldel and then along the nice bike path along the water towards Liege.

The road surface is partly reasonable to good asphalt and partly pretty mediocre (which is normal in Wallonia) concrete.

Nice connection between the Jeker valley and the valley of the river Meuse. The climb from this side starts between the houses and goes up via two windings. Road is like more indicated really bad. Was once in the Amstel Gold Race after the Halembaye and before the Sint-Pietersberg as second last climb.

It's a nice climb if you're in the area, in the beginning the road surface is very good, to then become very bad for a while, to end with a solid spur again. You can develop a good pace and hold it until the top. Stay away if there is an east wind. Then it is a drama when you come out of the forest because the wind is full on your nose.
Het is een leuke klim als je in de buurt bent, in het begin is het wegdek heel goed, om dan even heel slecht te worden, om weer te eindigen met een stevige uitloper. Je kan hier een goed tempo ontwikkelen en vasthouden tot boven. Wel wegblijven als er een oostenwind staat. Dan is het een drama wanneer je uit het bos komt want de wind staat dan vol op je neus.
