Super nice and hard climb. Very deserted after 2500m but very nice views. Climbed it August 1st 2018. Aim was to beat the best guy in my age group on STRAVA!... read more

Fantastic climb made from Cenes de la Vega during the SNL Subida al Veleta event, divisible into 3 sections: the first one of 17 km up to the Repsol gas station with very wide road and average gradient on the 6%; in the second section with many hairpin bends and immersed in the forest the average gradient rises to 7% until reaching Hoya de la Mora passing by the ski resorts and leaving down the Pradollano area, the section ends in front of the bar. From here it is 8 km to the finish line of the snow-barred SNL, actually'you continue for another 4 km to 3,300 m elevation where the marble stump indicating the highest point is located. The road here is bumpy from the start and gets progressively worse. When there's snow there are points where you pass between walls of snow. The'last mile is at the limits of passability'.
