Góra Żar from Sobina

Hello, an iconic climb. Against the background of climbs from all over the world, maybe a fright, but of the surrounding trinity (Kocierz, Żar, Przegibek) I consider it the most difficult*. It always takes me at least an hour to reach the top.... Worth passing, and more than once. Views from the top reward the effort put in. Don't be fooled by the unusual situation - almost after reaching the top there is a descent along the reservoir. This is not a proper summit. After scoring the descent, you need to fight a little more and only at the top is the "finish line". Greetings.

A nice driveway. Not some killer, but decent. Asphalt weak, which you need to keep in mind when descending. Not much traffic - above the parking lots of the lower station of the cable car only cars with a permit can enter. Riding in the woods, views only from the top.

An iconic climb in the Beskid Mały region. Unfortunately, apart from the first 2 km or so and the last section by the reservoir, the surface is in increasingly poor condition (as of 18.06.2025).You really have to be careful on the descent. There is a lot of car traffic on slow days, but only as far as the last car parks around the valley station. Views at the summit guaranteed.

The gradient over the whole climb is fairly steady without any "walls". A calm even pace to pass. The tarmac is decent with car traffic only in the initial phase of the climb. After reaching the first summit, you still have to go around a reservoir to reach the top. There are beautiful views of the Beskids and a gastro point for the thirsty :)

Highly recommended, not a lot of traffic, the driveway is a bit of a challenge. Above the car park, the road surface is a little bit slippery.

Superb. Little traffic, especially on the section above the car parks at the lower railway station to Żar. The gradient is fairly steady. The views along the route are rather lacking, but behind the summit are sensational. I managed to do it all at once despite my poor experience and on a trekking bike with panniers.

Long climb, medium gradient. Easy to ride at an even pace and the views at the top will reward you for all your efforts.
Virtually no car traffic due to a traffic ban, only the first 1.5 km may see something, as it is also the access to the last car park and the railway.

Difficult but not long ascent, variable gradient, medium surface condition, note the rough tarmac on the descent. Beautiful view from the summit. Considerable car and pedestrian traffic, especially in the upper parts.
