Since we wanted to climb the Hahntennjochpass from Imst and make a lap of it, we did have to cycle via the Namlos Landstrasse and the Fernpass from Biberwier. I don't have any negative experiences like the other cycling colleagues, but am quite moderately positive about this climb. Indeed, from the village you climb the first part via the old Fernpassstrasse, away from the busy traffic. If you cycle on weekdays outside the holiday period, the traffic is not too bad either. From the moment you turn onto the busier pass road, it is only a short climb to the top of the pass. 2 kilometres before, you can also stop at the Zugspitzblick restaurant for a view of that famous mountain peak and a lower idyllic mountain lake. We were lucky on the descent to Nassereith that we had no overtaking traffic; then that descent of the Fernpass is truly phenomenal! So, in my opinion, you definitely don't need to avoid this pass!

Erg gevaarlijk

Horrible. We had the same depressing experience with Tyrolean cycling infrastructure as the other user, in a very stark contrast with Bavaria. At least the road is wide, and if you're lucky, you'll be descending in front of a campervan, which might just be slower than you...

I can only repeat my review of the alternative. We must not waste too many words on this thing.
This is a very busy artery and is full of traffic - buses, trucks, holidaymakers, you name it.
To be avoided like the plague, but the downside is that if you have to cross it, you really have no alternative. There is a cycle path through the forest, but that is completely unsuitable for racing bikes. Only gravel or mountain bikes are allowed.
Especially a warm call to the mayor to asphalt the cycle path or dig a tunnel for the car traffic. A disaster.
