The Erlerberg west ramp is a classic. The ramp quickly shows its teeth, fortunately still wooded at first, but soon without shade, which can be tough in summer. I always look forward to the turn-off to the Kranzhorn, because after that it briefly goes back into the forest and along a stream, even slightly downhill, before it leaves the forest and climbs up again to the hikers' car park.

Once at the top, you can continue over to the Praschberg or down to Sachrang in the Priental valley. In any case, it is not worth driving back again, but savouring it as a pass experience. But when you ride back down, hopefully you have memorised the sharp bend where the transformer house is, because you should be really careful there.
