I was disappointed. I was probably expecting too much from this pass, so much vaunted by bikers, so adored by 4-wheeled lunatics who think they're re-enacting the Monte Carlo rally. And then there was the Tour de France this year. Still, it's a beautiful climb. The road is excellent. The bends are pleasant. It's a bit like the perfect mountain road. A slightly disappointing ride. The first part is quite pretty and easy. The omnipresence of the forest in the part after the reel does not offer any high mountain scenery. A little disappointed .

I didn't see anything absolutely breathtaking and unique.
Too many trees to see a truly exceptional landscape?
The percentage never hurts, but the 24km eventually wears you down.
Up there, restaurants, most of them closed.
Then there are Ferraris, Porsches, people showing off their wealth and even a few bicycles.
For those who love fir trees and Ferraris!
I'm bitterly disappointed. It's still a very beautiful pass.

Ma déception me rend amer.

Hardest climb on L'Etape 2024, maybe due to heat. Irregular, some scenic moments but also some boring parts. Descent towards La Bollene-Vesubie is a bit technical.

If Anton Pieck had drawn an Alpine mountain in the Efteling fairy tale forest, it would undoubtedly have looked like the Turini. In one word: beautiful!
On the col itself, unfortunately, there are only deserted hotels. The only one that is still open is hotel le Chamois, but that is a case of 'get the hell out'. The climb from the col to the barracks of l'Authion is worthwhile. Some extra altitude metres and rewarded with extra views.

In één woord: prachtig!

A very long pass (which could be divided into 2 passes) which is not complicated and the landscape is nice too!
