Vanuit het fraaie Benzenrade gaat de weg vanuit het beekdal omhoog via een holle weg. Na een kleine afdaling ga je onder het viaduct door en dan ga je naar rechts en vlak daarna naar links, een heel smal asfaltweggetje (verboden voor gemotoriseerd verkeer) in. En daar gaat het even heel rap omhoog. Verder buigt de weg naar rechts en wordt het minder steil maar van uitfietsen is dan nog geen sprake, dat komt later pas.
Het kleine weggetje heeft soms matig asfalt. Soms komt het groen links en rechts wel erg dichtbij, maar er blijft een goed pad over.
