From the pretty village of Benzenrade the path goes up through the creek valley on a hollow road. After a small descent you go under the viaduct and then you turn right and just after that left into a very narrow asphalt road (forbidden for motorized traffic). And there it goes up very fast. Further on the road bends to the right and becomes less steep, but there is no question of cycling to the end, that comes later.
The small road has sometimes poor asphalt. Sometimes the green on the left and right come very close, but there remains a good path.
Vanuit het fraaie Benzenrade gaat de weg vanuit het beekdal omhoog via een holle weg. Na een kleine afdaling ga je onder het viaduct door en dan ga je naar rechts en vlak daarna naar links, een heel smal asfaltweggetje (verboden voor gemotoriseerd verkeer) in. En daar gaat het even heel rap omhoog. Verder buigt de weg naar rechts en wordt het minder steil maar van uitfietsen is dan nog geen sprake, dat komt later pas.
Het kleine weggetje heeft soms matig asfalt. Soms komt het groen links en rechts wel erg dichtbij, maar er blijft een goed pad over.
