By Heerlen standards, this is actually a pretty nice little climb, especially as you can see the road rising nicely in front of you. The first part goes through a residential area, has cobblestones and speed bumps and barely climbs at all, so you could skip that. Once you turn into Gerben Sondermanstraat, it does get fun because you can see the road rising well. Just before the end, you turn right into K.L.M. Straat, which rises further with a nice curve to a very clear highest point.
Voor Heerlense begrippen is dit eigenlijk een best leuk klimmetje, vooral omdat je de weg mooi voor je uit ziet stijgen. Het eerste deel loopt door een woonerf, heeft klinkers en drempels en stijgt amper dus dat zou je kunnen overslaan. Zodra je de Gerben Sondermanstraat in gaat wordt het wel leuk omdat je de weg goed ziet stijgen. Vlak voor het einde ga je rechtsaf de K.L.M. Straat in die met een mooie bocht verder doorstijgt tot een heel duidelijk hoogste punt.
