Niet te moeilijke klim van ruim 1 kilometer in de bebouwde kom van Heerlen. Tot ongeveer halfverwege is het vals plat. Het tweede deel van de klim is wat steiler zonder dat het echt zwaar wordt.
The real climb only starts at the Grotius College but before that you already have a slight run. The route goes over a bicycle lane along a main road. On the roundabouts you can normally just keep on cycling. After the roundabout a relaxed run which then slightly flattens out. Not spectacular but you feel (and see) that the road is going up.
De "echte" klim begint pas ter hoogte van het Grotiuscollege maar daarvoor heb je al een lichte aanloop. De route gaat over een fietsstrook langs een voorrangsweg. Op de rotondes kan je normaal gesproken gewoon doorfietsen. na de rotonde een relaxte loper die iets daarna afvlakt. Niet spectaculair maar je voelt (en ziet) weldegelijk dat de weg aan het stijgen is.
