A climb from my top 5 (between toppers like the Grossclockner and the Teide).
Beautiful climb, beautiful surroundings.

Our experience was with a little one of 5 months in the bike trailer. June 25, 2017 was the 1st day the pass was open. So we were lucky as this was our 1st leg of the holiday. We were the first cyclists of that year, and even got an interview with a local Norwegian TV station.

On top we cycled between 4m high snow walls. Epic!

Schitterende klim, schitterende omgeving.

Episch!

An addition: there is also a very nice climb from Geiranger to Dalsnibba in the same region. I have 'm not ridden myself, but you cycle from sea level to the highest fjord view from a tarmac road. Often right through the snowfields if you look at the images on the internet. That climb is also very high on the wish list.

I have little to add to the description, except for some pictures. The photo with all the hairpin bends gives the best view. The photo in the valley shows how the approach from Andalsnes looks like. The other two pictures show the view from the top (after the tourist visitor centre). The photo's are from june and you can see enough snow left on the mountains. Are you going to Norway, are you in the area and is this pass open (there is often snow on it until April or even May) then you really want to go up here.

If you go up by car or bus, you will beat yourself up for not having arranged a bike. It is busy on the road, but on the Norwegian roads people treat cyclists very well is my experience. I was even encouraged several times from cars.
