The trickiest way to ride up the Tiegem. After the short descent towards the normal way to ride up the Tiegem, instead of attacking the Tiegem at full speed you virtually stop to turn left into a small street only to have to stop again 100m further on to turn sharply right. Then you start the actual climb along a small road that goes through the forest. There is a steep kink in here but is a fun little road to do. After the steepest part there is a very short flat/downhill section and you end up on the regular climb of the Tiegem to cycle further up. There you are again completely out of rhythm as you have to cross the road. So it's a matter of finding your rhythm again and then steaming on to the top.

Unfortunately this little mountain is too little known to many cyclists. However, it's fun to combine with the actual Tiegemberg itself. A little past the infamous mushroom you have to turn left, the climb itself goes behind the beautiful Sint-Arnoldus park with the famous spring and is about halfway quite steep, eventually you end up on the Tiegemberg again. Definitely worthwhile. When I return from a tour in the Flemish Ardennes I often pass by Tiegem on my way home, just to get the last bit of juice out of my legs.

Beautiful climb with a forest on the right side. The devil is in the steep part. this climb is nice to combine with the mountain street.
