A climb that could be defined as the "Colle delle Finestre" of the Apennines; slightly less difficult, it remains a long climb and half of it is gravel, with gradients that in the last 6.5 kilometres become hard, almost always above 9, and often in double figures. Beware of the gravel, gravel in less than perfect condition, but I added this climb also to promote a hidden beauty of my territory (I come from nearby Rieti), and I hope to increase the interest of entities such as the provi... read more

Breathtaking ascent. Very aerial the final section (which you can already see goes down). The gravel part has a central part with a very good surface (resurfaced and with asphalt in the bends). The low section is gravel. Above very hard especially the final section as the gradients go up and the gravel becomes very coarse (the fine part is missing, you struggle more and in particular on the descent it is more suitable for a mountain bike than a gravel bike: (with the gravel you need to be very careful because the wheels are not wide enough). Absolutely to be avoided with road bikes, as the website writes. Tip: it is worth continuing from the top of the route slightly downhill to the Sebastiani refuge for a beer and regenerating lunch before descending along the same route. I confirm that it is one of the most beautiful climbs in the Apennines. Today zero cyclists, just my gravel

Salita mozzafiato.

Beware of the gravel, gravel in less than perfect condition, but I added this climb also to promote a hidden beauty of my territory (I come from nearby Rieti), and I hope to increase the interest of entities such as the province in this road to make a quality dirt road like the Finestre, so that perhaps this climb will also become an interesting landing place for bicycle races.
