Nice running climb in the Sella Ronda. In Corvara and above the necessary catering facilities. In the Maratona ride it twice, the second time it gets spicier already.

The shortest and simplest of the Sellaronda passes. Still worth it

Passo Campolongo from Corvara I find the least spectacular climb of the eight climbs of the Sella Ronda. Passo Campolongo, unlike the other 3 passes, does not offer the spectacular views you are used to from the Dolomites. The climb from Corvara is also another over a wide and even road. This does make it a fantastic descent 😃

From Corvara, the climb is quite steep through a series of hairpin bends, after which it levels off. Further on, there is some climbing again, but the percentages remain friendly. Not particularly beautiful (but that is probably because the climb has to compete with the fantastic surrounding passes), but a very nice warm-up for what lies behind (Pordoi, Falzarego, etc.).

Did this as the first climb of the Sella Ronda going clockwise. I rode early so avoided the traffic. The most fun part was the section of hairpins just out of Corvara. From there the road straightens out and ascends through grassy slopes bordered by Forrest.

As for the other side, this climb is unavoidable when you are based in Corvara or one of the surrounding villages. If you are training, it is one of the better climbs to do your intervals.

Slightly strange climb. Winds up directly from the relatively busy Corvara. Strangely enough, the bends are steeper than the rest of the climb. After the series of turns follows a long spur where the wind is often on the head.

New asphalt, quite a lot of traffic, little hindrance.

Ietwat vreemde klim.

When cycling the Sella Ronda in a clockwise direction and starting in Canazei, the Passo Campolongo was the penultimate climb for me.
At the end of the touristy Corvara starts a spicy hairpin climb of about 2 km. that winds up between the peaceful mountain meadows. In the smaller high-altitude valley there then follows a long straight and wide ascending road up to the unobtrusive pass height with a few inns.

Easiest (no extreme %) and least imaginative pass in the Sella Ronda quartet!

I did this on the way to the Pordoi as the first climb of the day. To be honest, I don't know much about it anymore, after 600 km through the Dolomites you start cycling on the car pilot and I was really looking forward to the Pordoi.
The morning was still fresh and damp but the road was reasonably quiet.
The view of the mountains distracts tremendously from the pressure on the legs, I enjoy every second and don't notice the percentages.
The Campolongo is not really hard and is ideal to ride with your buddies and chat, the Pordoi which follows is a bit more serious.
Without shortchanging one climb here; enjoy the view and respect nature. The reward is huge because it is and remains pure enjoyment.
