An absolute beast. If you think to yourself at 19% to take a breather, you know enough! Definitely a must for anyone who likes a challenge!
Really steep, but i thought it will be harder. I had a lot of respect for this climb and tried to go slow to don't blow up, but didn't even get above the threshold. It is possibke to zigzag little bit, but in someplaces it is really slippery with cones, stones and wet tarmac, so it is better to do it seated. Dont look at the comment that you need to get off the bike with car blockers. I just rode it without stopping.
Really tough climb. Harder irl than on paper. There are two car blockers at the beginning and end so you have to get of the bike and start again, so you can’t have a rhythm all the way through the climb. The roadsurface is good and definitely a climb to try if you are in the area. Not for the more heavy riders
Hell of a climb, short (fortunately) but really steep. Very nice environment and above all no traffic
Salita infernale, breve (fortunatamente) ma davvero ripida. Ambiente molto bello e soprattutto senza traffico
2 years ago I had already cycled it , and this time (after 95 km ) I was very doubtful about doing it again ...
After a hundred and fifty metres I completely cursed the climb ..., but still managed to get to the top without stopping. What the hell is this!
Definitely a must in every climber's bucket list. Every heightmeter is marked, so you can see your live progress, and see how it gets steeper. I did this one in autumn and it was covered in leaves, that got stick on my wheel and my rim brakes, making it even harder. You have to pass through a gate at the start and at the end, meaning the absence of cars.
Surely it is to be recommended for those who are trained I have ridden it six times but when I start to climb it is as if it were the first time the MURO is the legend of Lombardy here the greatest have pedalled ....umility and fatigue
This was a true mystical experience.
The adjective "steep" is not enough to describe this climb.
The beginning is not terrible (about 15% positive grad.) but after (very) few hundred meters everything will change.
You need to put all yourself here. Probably even more. The 200 meters from 1,1 to 1,3 km are endless. Everything runs in slow motion.
Likewise for the last part.
I had the luck to climb the Muro during the week and I found nobody there. It has been a surreal experience. It was just me, my breaths, my heartbeats and the will to not surrender. I had millions thoughts while climbing but they were all about what I was doing, about the numbers painted on the asphalt and about pushing my willpower so intensively as I never did before (even if I have many Alpin climbs in my pocket).
If you love the steep climbs you must try it no matter what the final result will be.
I would compare the "Muro" to a 5 rounds versus a young Mike Tyson. Don't pretend to win: what you should do is to finish those 5 rounds still standing on your feet.
You can't win the "Muro"...but you can ride it all.
Short but awful leg-splitting
If you love the steep climb, you must do it at least once in your life.
The most beautiful editions of the Giro di Lombardia have passed through here.
Refreshments at the finish and water supply at the start.
This was hard work, I really had to push myself to the limit. 12 minutes VO2max block shall we say.
After a heavy rainfall, the sun broke through. Apart from the beautiful images, this also created a very oppressive atmosphere. A special and at the same time very heavy experience.
When I drove up to it, I missed it on the left....😬, down, and then up, you know immediately that you are in the right place!
This is really not normal steep!
But worth it
Unique experience, it doesn't look long but that's how it feels, up to about half way it was ok but then it gets even steeper and I had to put my foot down. 2m and 95 kg feel a lot heavier then;). But still recommended!
This was a fantastic experience. Super steep and heavy of course, but also very beautiful. The markings on the road make it something special too, you get the feeling you are cycling up a cycling monument here. Be careful when navigating around the barriers, it would be a shame to set foot here...
Before you reach the Muro, you have to climb another 6 to 7 km...
In my region, it is simply "the Wall" (Il muro). Legendary climb of the Giro di Lombardia, you will spit your lungs and throw away your legs... must do. No cars, just you and a "vertical" ascent. Better not put the foot on the ground, the restart would be a nightmare.
Cheers
What looks like a harmless little road through a park at first, turns into a monster of a climb. Well, climb, more like a wall. Even Spiderman would have a hard time here. Only 2 km, but it feels like a grown-up alpine climb. Harken and stoempen, on flexibility this is impossible. Know where you're going!
If you are in the neighbourhood of Lake Como, you should definitely do this climb! It is best to combine it with the Madonna del Ghisallo.
Great experience to be able to climb the most difficult part of the Tour of Lombardy.
Characteristics:
- Loei style, adapted resistance is recommended;
- Asphalt is of good quality;
- Don't start too fast. 2km doesn't seem far, but with these gradients it lasts.
Conclusion: hard work but what an incredible feeling it is to get up the climb without having to stop.
Kenmerken:
- Loei stijl, aangepast verzet is aan te raden;
- Asfalt is van goede kwaliteit;
For both ordinary mortals and pros, there is no shame in getting off here.
Nice challenge with no end in sight.
Spearhead in the Tour of Lombardy.
Pooh... What a steep thing... it just goes on and on...
Just for fun they have every altimeter written on the ground for you....
In case you forget how steep it is, every few feet you see that you've gone up a foot...
But great when you finally get to the top! ;-)
Details:
No car traffic, fenced off with barriers
Nice good asphalt

Geen autoverkeer, afgezet met slagbomen
Mooi goed asfalt
