This specific vatiant of the climb begins immediately in bombshell, catching you off guard. You have just enough time to catch your breath and then the challenging part begins, shared by the other variants.
In theory, it is a private road reserved for the Italian army, leading to a kind of military base. Contrary to what the other review says, the asphalt is in good condition, without any potholes, except for the first ramp (from km 1 to km 1.6 or so) where it is a bit ruined. At the end of this first ramp there is a kind of car park, where hikers leave their cars to make the ascent on foot or explore the various paths; from here on there are no more cars.
The climb is tough and demanding, but at each bend if you take the wide path you can recover your legs a little.
The summit is disappointing: it does not level out, the road is interrupted by the gate of the military base. At least the view is splendid.

A mountain that was a protagonist of the First World War, reached via a half-forgotten military road, characterised by very demanding gradients that require adequate gears and physical preparation.
The roadway is very narrow and the road surface is often dirty and ruined, and for these reasons (as well as the steep gradients) it is best to tackle the descent with the utmost caution.
N.B.
Motor vehicles are prohibited along the road (apart from a few exceptions).
