It's a very irregular climb. Most of the climb is on the state road, and the gradient is quite gentle. However, once you turn left onto the small road, the problems start (there is a road sign indicating a 30° slope). At the end, the road starts to climb very steeply at a maximum gradient of 27–28°, but fortunately only for about 50 metres. The difficulty is increased further by the presence of the stone rainwater drain. In my opinion, this part is one of the most difficult sections of ... read more

When the average values of a climb do not give you an idea of what you are facing, you could take this very ramp as an example, which lingers for a long time on very easy gradients between Fontanafredda and Faedo but then climbs with increasing difficulty. A few hundred metres from the Roverello pass, you turn left onto Via Pedevenda, and there the trouble begins. You no longer descend below 10% and the last few ramps, interspersed with stone drains for rainwater, are extremely difficult. Fortunately, the last twenty metres at 23% lead to a very beautiful plateau, which offers a beautiful panorama and serves as a starting point for those who, on foot or by mountain bike, would like to reach the summit of Venda. The gradient, the presence of the grates and the narrowness of the road make the descent a continuous exercise in activating the brakes, at least until the return to Faedo. From there on, however, you pedal fast and safe.
