Road has only gotten worse. Very occasionally you can still recognise a patch of asphalt if you pay attention. You should actually ride this climb on a mountain bike, but miraculously I didn't get a puncture. Fortunately, the view makes up for a lot, and the cappuccino 4.5 km below the summit was no problem either. Very happy with the descent on the other side of the mountain.

Beautiful views of Vesuvius. Poor road surface indeed but is manageable. Beautiful hairpin bends and on top a beautiful view. On the road no traffic encountered only a few wild horses

Intensely bad road surface, but definitely worth this climb. The views on the Vesuvius and the sea are definitely worth it.
If you survive the first piece (very steep), then the rest is also possible because it is just a bit less steep. You should not expect more than 1 or 2 cars on the road during the climb. Once at the top you come to a new asphalt road and you have a great descent.

Bad road surface up is not a problem for me because you go slowly anyway.
