The climb from Saint-Jans Cappel starts just after the roundabout (clearly marked with signs). It goes up very gently in the beginning. You always stay on the main road and that makes it a nasty climb. Halfway up, it reaches its peak (> 10%) with a gentle spur. From the top you quickly head for the border (FR - BE) and you can take the Vidaigneberg and the Baneberg (!) on the same road.
