Na het eerste zware stuk volgt een korte adempauze, maar het blijft opletten tot de top. Rustige weg en mooi decor maken dit een echte verborgen parel.
Fun but tough climb. Opposite profile compared to other climbs, as you start with steep section immediately after the start, that only goes steeper to 15％. Once you feel like it is draining you it softens up on you and actually gives a recovery decline between first and second curve, before the final climbing part. Good climb to balance endurance with anaerobic training.
It is equally steep at the start but after the bush you even get some time to let pressure off the legs during the bit of descent. After the bend, give it your all again over the drop flat spur. Quiet road with a good road surface. Pay attention in the bends!
Het is in het begin even steil maar na het bosje krijg je zelfs even tijd om druk van de benen te laten tijdens het stukje dalen. Na de bocht nog eens goed over de valsplatte uitloper alles geven. Rustige weg met een goed wegdek. Opletten in de bochten!
Incredible coastline, a must-do... I had a hard time of it. I had to finish the steep part mentally. You'd think you were on holiday on the second part because the first was so difficult.

Great climb from Pays des Collines - my favourite in this region. The first part starts out steep right away and gets steeper and steeper (especially when cycling between trees). Done in a heavy rain: standing up was then not an option (danger of skidding). After the steep part, you've had the hardest part. Recuperate for a bit and then go up a little more. Perfect road surface, very quiet and beautiful scenery.
Geweldige klim uit Pays des Collines - mijn favoriet in deze regio. Het eerste deel begin meteen steil en wordt steiler en steiler (zeker als je tussen de bomen fietst). Gedaan in een fikse regenbui: rechtstaan was dan geen optie (slipgevaar). Na het steile stuk, heb je het zwaarste gehad. Stukje recupereren en dan nog een klein stukje omhoog. Perfect wegdek, zeer rustig en prachtige omgeving.
One of the tastemakers of Pays des collines. You turn right on (or left if you're coming from the other side) and immediately get to work. It starts out quite steep and only gets steeper for the first 600m. You pass a few trees before coming back more onto the plain and then the worst is passed, but a fairly long spur follows. On paper, this one doesn't look that difficult but am still always glad to get to the top.
Een van de smaakmakers van Pays des collines. Je draait rechts op (of links als je van den andere kant komt) en mag direct aan de bak. Het begint vrij steil en wordt alleen maar steiler voor de eerste 600m. Je passeert een paar bomen om daarna terug meer op de vlakte te komen en dan is het ergste gepasseerd, maar volgt nog een vrij lange uitloper. Op papier ziet deze er niet zo lastig uit maar ben toch altijd blij om boven te raken.

Unknown is unloved. This one is close to all the famous climbs of the spring classics but is unknown to many because it is not included in a big race. Probably because it's just across the language border and that's not done by some absurd unwritten rule. Too bad because the region is really worth a visit. This is one of those hills where you really have the feeling of not moving forward. The steepness of the slope is not really visible during the climb. Nice to do if you're cycling around Ronse or Geraardsbergen.
Onbekend is onbemind. Deze ligt vlak bij alle bekende hellingen van de voorjaarsklassiekers maar is voor velen onbekend omdat die niet opgenomen is in een grote wedstrijd. Wellicht omdat die net over de taalgrens is en dat door een of andere absurde ongeschreven regel not done is. Jammer want de streek is echt wel een uitstapje waard. Dit is zo'n helling waar je echt het gevoel hebt om niet vooruit te gaan. De steilte is tijdens de beklimming niet echt goed te zien. Leuk om eens te doen als je rond Ronse of Geraardsbergen zit te fietsen.

A must for the Grinta Challenge. This climb reminds a bit of La Redoute, only shorter of course. It starts relatively slowly, and then you have the impression of taking off towards the sky. After a brief respite, the final section, even if it is not very steep, can cut the legs of those who have not saved enough up to this point.
Beautiful views of the area... towards the back, along the steepest part. So much to say that one can hardly enjoy it in the direction of the rise!
Un passage obligé du Grinta Challenge. Cette côte rappelle un peu la Redoute, en plus court bien sûr. Elle commence relativement doucement, et puis on a l'impression de décoller vers le ciel. Après un bref répit, la portion finale, même si elle est peu pentue, peut couper les jambes de celui qui ne s'est pas assez économisé jusque là.
Magnifique point de vue sur la région… vers l'arrière, le long de la partie la plus raide. Autant dire qu'on ne peut guère en profiter dans le sens de la montée !
