Langs het mooie kasteel van Birgel gaat het al snel over een klein weggetje de bebouwde kom uit. Na een lichte afdaling kom je bij een fietspad langs de hoofdweg wat lekker stijgt en mooi uitzicht naar achteren biedt. In Gey blijf je eigenlijk steeds rechtdoor fietsen tot je via een fietspad op de hoofdweg uitkomt. Deze slingert lekker naar boven en is gelukkig niet al te druk. Verderop wordt de weg wel recht maar dan is deze ook al aan het afvlakken. In het begin redelijk asfalt, de rest van de klim is het prima. Mooie omgeving.
