Nice steady climb with hairpin bends. Never really steep. There is a cycle path next to it, but I don't think it is ever used.
Mooie gelijkmatige klim met haarspeldbochten. Nooit echt steil. Loopt een fietspad naast, maar die wordt nooit gebruikt denk ik.
Nice road that steadily climbs and has a number of hairpin bends. Not as busy as the main road, but there is some tourist traffic (especially motorcycles, I can indeed imagine that in summer and in the weekends it is very busy). It helps that there is a good tarmac cycle path along the entire road.
If you think you are at the top, there is still about 2 km (uninspiring) false flat to 'conquer'.
Mooie weg die gestaag omhoog loopt en een aantal haarspeldbochten herbergt. Nog niet zo druk als de grote doorgaande weg, maar wel wat toeristisch verkeer (vooral motoren, kan me inderdaad voorstellen dat het zomers en in de weekenden erg druk is). Het helpt wel dat er langs de gehele weg een prima geasfalteerd fietspad loopt.
Als je denkt boven te zijn, ligt er nog zo'n 2km (oninspirerend) vals plat om te 'bedwingen'.
Today it looked like the TT of Assen on this climb. Motorcyclists racing up and down and flat out through the bends. On sight it is a nice climb. The hairpins are quite long. You don't always notice that it's a hairpin.
Vandaag leek het wel de TT van Assen op deze klim. Motorrijders die op en neer en plat door de bochten naar boven en beneden raasden. Op zicht is het een mooie klim. De haarspeld bochten zijn tamelijk lange bochten. Je merkt niet altijd dat het een haarspeldbocht is.
Lovely climb. Never gets really hard and goes on for a long time. There is a bike path, but the quality of the tarmac is considerably better on the road. Motorists take cyclists well into account, so both up and down you can 'm fine on the road suits. Nice view also.
Heerlijke klim. Wordt nergens echt zwaar en loopt lang lekker door. Er ligt een fietspad bij, maar de kwaliteit van het asfalt is op de weg aanzienlijk beter. Automobilisten houden goed rekening met fietsers, dus zowel omhoog als omlaag kan je 'm prima over de weg pakken. Mooi uitzicht bovendien.
Nice climb with a nice bike path next to it, relatively long climb (for the region) with a very gradual course. At the top you can get your nose into the wind
Mooie klim met een fijn fietspad ernaast, betrekkelijk lange klim (voor de regio) met een heel geleidelijk verloop. Bovenop kan je met je snufferd flink in de wind komen
The number of hairpin bends makes this a nice climb to include in the route. The road is very wide and that is not a luxury as there can be a lot of traffic. With good weather, motorcyclists know this climb well to find. At the top, the climb is still quite long and false flat.
Het aantal haarspeldbochten maakt dat dit een leuke klim is om in de route op te nemen. De weg is erg breed en dat is geen overbodige luxe aangezien er best veel verkeer kan zijn. Met mooi weer weten motorrijders deze klim ook goed te vinden. Op de top loopt het nog aardig lang vals plat omhoog.
We picked a quiet spring day and with almost the entire climb to ourselves we could enjoy the hairpin bends and the view!
Rustig voorjaarsdagje uitgezocht en met bijna de hele klim voor ons alleen kunnen genieten van de haarspeldbochten en het uitzicht!
Nice to feel the pressure again after a break at the Ruhrsee. Nice area with some longer climbs and still only half an hour further than South Limburg.
In the summer many motorcyclists with the same idea so then it is careful, formally the bike path runs over the footpath in Germany and you hear here and there not on the through road. The German in his car will let you go but the foreigners sometimes want to pass close by.
The road swings nicely and never gets really steep, then turn right for a nice descent back to the Ruhrsee and further on.
Lekker om weer even de druk te voelen na een pauze aan de Ruhrsee. Mooi gebied met wat langere beklimmingen en toch maar een half uur verder dan Zuid-Limburg.
In de zomer veel motorrijders met zelfde idee dus dan is het wel opletten, formeel loopt het fietspad over het voetpad in Duitsland en hoor je hier en daar niet op de doorgaande weg te fietsen. De Duitser in zijn auto laat je wel gaan maar de buitenlanders willen wel eens close voorbij rasen hier.
De weg slingert lekker en wordt nooit echt steil, daarna rechts af voor een mooie afdaling terug naar de Ruhrsee en weer verder.
Nice climb. Like many roads around here it is a big road. Quite a bit of traffic. But they are very social. Perfect tarmac. Too bad it is such a big road. The hairpin bends are through and not the sharp hairpin bends with the sharp inner curve. So in itself a nice climb but the road is not so nice.
Mooie klim. Het is net al vele wegen hier in de buurt een grote weg. Best wel wat verkeer. Maar ze zijn zeer sociaal. Perfecte asfalt. Jammer dat het zo een grote weg is. De haarspelt bochten zijn doordraaiers en niet de scherpe haarspeltbochten met de scherpe binnenbocht. Dus op zich een mooie klim maar de weg is niet zo leuk
