Door een verkeerde afslag te nemen, kwamen we per ongeluk op deze helling terecht, na een dag vol zogenaamde echte bekende klimmen, waaronder de Hammer. Dit is pas echt een kuitenbijter; daarbij is de Hammer een echte makkie.
Not the prettiest of climbs but the tarmac is perfect and you ride between the trees. The question is whether you can look at them while you are pedaling up.
Niet de allermooiste klim maar het asfalt is perfect en je rijdt prima tussen de bomen. De vraag is of je daarnaar kunt kijken terwijl je naar boven aan het stoempen bent.
Peace and quiet, little traffic and a typical German view at the beginning. After that it is in 1 word: stoempen! Put it on your lightest gear and climb up. After a day at the Rursee this was really the killer climb. Once up you have a large portion of satisfaction there. Tip: take the descent to Monschau for a nice piece of cake or stay on the plateau and do the same in Roetgen ;)
Rust, weinig verkeer en een typisch Duits doorkijkje aan het begin. Daarna wordt het in 1 woord: stoempen! Zet hem op je lichtste versnelling en klauter naar boven. Na een dag aan de Rursee was dit toch echt wel de killer climb. Eenmaal boven heb je een grote portie aan voldoening erbij. Tip: pak de afdaling naar Monschau voor een lekker stuk taart of blijf op het plateau en doe hetzelfde in Roetgen ;)
Really a wonderful calves-biter. We did this at the end of a long day on the way to Monschau and then you can be quite wrong in the percentages. The climb is not necessarily very beautiful, but the tarmac is good.
Echt een heerlijke kuitenbijter. Wij deden deze aan het eind van een lange dag op weg naar Monschau en dan kun je je best wel vergissen in de percentages. De klim is niet persé heel mooi, maar het asfalt is goed.
